What's New in Riverwalk

A sampling of tours in Riverwalk is available below. Features not visible from the links below include discussions attached to each page, and a virtual "backpack" for each user.

Participants

RiverWalk participants currently come from schools in Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, the U.S., Canada, and Israel. They range in age from 3rd grade through college.

Tours

There are over a dozen "published" tours in RiverWalk, and more are being created all the time by the RiverWalk participants. There are tours in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Portugese. You can view a few of the tours from the links above.

Discussions

Every page of every tour in RiverWalk has a discussion area attached to it. Participants discuss issues that come up in the tours, and sometimes the conversations get quite heated! For example, Eduardo Junqueira's tour of Jau National Park in Brazil tells of the difficult situation of the people who had been living in the area before it was designated as a national park. Participants have been debating the tradeoffs between protecting nature and letting people make a living.

Note: You need to be a registered RiverWalk participant to access the discussions.
