Arroio Matadouro’s spring

The river bank used to cross a cow plant, which originated its name (Matadouro in Portuguese). In the past, the water was used to clean the plant in many different ways. The river’s channeling starts downtown and goes until it meets the Arroio Ficagna. These two flow through channels to the Tapera river. In the past kids used to play in this huge channel and the water was pure. Nowadays no one can stand the bad smell in that spot. There are probably sewers running there.
