The Tapera River results from the junction of several streams that flow within our city. The four main streams are: Arroio Matadouro, Arroio Ficagna, Arroio Garrafa, Arroio Cinco Irmãos. All of them were channeled at some point in the past years.
Other streams located in the countryside flow directly to the Tapera River. All these streams create the Tapera River, which then flows to the Colorado River. The Colorado River goes directly to the Jacui river, one of the main rivers in Rio Grande do Sul state.
