Getting to Know the Ohta River (1)

Hi! We're Grade 6 Class 2 from Misasa Elementary School in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. There are 38 of us, and we have lots of fun!

The Ohta River starts in the northern part of the Prefecture and flows into Hiroshima Bay. It's a symbol of Hiroshima City.

Last year we got to know the Furukawa River, a tributary a little up stream from here. This year we started with an Ohta River drainage canal that goes through our school grounds.

For this tour, each group wrote impressions (mostly in poems) of an event we called "Yeah! We want to dig for clams!" and the next day's "Clam Tasting" event. Please take a look!
